It’s a mop and bucket – inspired by a report by Julie Bindel on the way language is used in academia to sanitize and prettify the sex trade. The rather shorter, blunter words in red scrawled over the floor are the words used in normal speech and, particularly, by survivors of the sex trade.

The bucket is a slab built pot, made with a mix of earthenware and black Earthstone clay, slip-painted in white, with sgraffito drawn line, blue and red underglaze colours, and clear glazed. It has copper lustre on the rim and base line.
