London Snow – Ash Tree

The ballet dancers of the tree world, the Ash Tree is unusually graceful. This one in my local park is one of my favourite trees, particularly lovely showing black against the snow.

Shallow dish is a 40cm pinch pot made from earthenware clay mixed with black Earthstone for a rich deep brown colour and for strength, painted with white slip and delicate sgraffito drawn line. The pot is clear glazed with gold lustre on the rim and a tin glaze wash on the underside.
