Large Magnolia Bowl
Large Magnolia Bowl: pinch pot decorated with Magnolia flowers in white slip and freely drawn sgraffito lines over a dark brown clay ground. It is clear glazed with gold lustre on the rim. Magnolia flowers are a new departure for me. They always present a welcome sight in Spring, especially in urban parks and gardens. Their generous, open forms and concentric structure lend themselves well to the bowl form.
