Ash Tree in Spring

Ash Tree in Spring: a portrait of an Ash tree in my local London park. They’re usually among the last of the trees to come into leaf – you know that Spring is fully under way once the feathery leaves of the Ash appear.

Pinch pot – a shallow dish form, made from earthenware clay mixed with black Earthstone for a rich deep brown colour and for strength, painted with white slip and delicate sgraffito drawn line. The pot is clear glazed with gold lustre on the rim.
